Farne Islands – November 2017

A bit later in the year than usual, Putney BSAC went for traditional pilgrimage to Farne Islands, to be precise it was the first weekend of November. Our group (good mixture of new and “wetted” divers) booked Lee Hall – who was as usual fantastic skipper and ground support (organising our accommodation, cylinder rental and fills !).

Water temperature of 12C is at its year’s best, although we would wish for less wind and bit warmer surface intervals. 🙂 Sunday got blown out and wind chill was notable between the dives – I’m very very impressed by Steph and Emma for braving their first UK Nord sea dives in wet suits – ladies if you liked this you will love the rest! We got a good deal of seal action (all of us a got to play with seals) in an okish vis of 3-4m. Drysuit divers were a bit cursed by leaks – 3 out of 8 including me 🙁 but hey – We will certainly be back.
