Instructor Training at Wraysbury

So this was the first club outing of the year in open water –  15th of March ‘26 – after long sequence of bad weather and cancelled outings in Jan and Feb. We had to go!

Although the day before, when I saw the frost on the garden plants in the morning, I had my doubts. On Sunday morning just before 9:00 (opening time at Wraysbury) when I parked up at co-op at Wraysbury to get my cheese croissant with Lukas parked next to me and Paul’s text message ‘in go mode’, I realised that we are  doing it now. We were testing new kit but more importantly we were honing our instructing skills as the main ‘exercise’ of the day. At 9°C water there were only few others intending on getting wet but overall it was a sunny day and coffee and luxury cheesecake kindly served by Lukas made it a nice day. We all learned a lot and are ready for action in 2026 …
