Boat
The club owns a RHIB for use by its members. Each member using the boat must pay £15 per day on boat dives. Trips on the Thames are charged at £5 per person. All fuel tanks must be returned full, regardless of whether they were full to start with.
Training incidentals for open water
There will be some charges for training at open water sites, which the trainee is expected to cover for both themselves and their instructor, such as:
- Transport to the dive site – if car sharing then fuel/electricity costs are expected to be shared.
- Entry to the dive site for trainee and instructor
- Air fills for the trainee and for the instructor
- Equipment loan for the trainee, as above
- Boat charter, if necessary
- A basic fee to cover instructors expenses on food & drink etc.
The above can be summed up by the costs below, depending on which of the inland quarry site is involved.
Wraysbury – £65 without kit £90 full kit hire
Vobster Quay – £75 without kit, £100 full kit.
Stoney Cove – £82 without kit £107 full kit
A trainee diver will be expected to independently source the remaining equipment which the club cannot provide, which in UK waters tends to include hood, gloves, boots, open-heel fins and a thick wetsuit or drysuit. These can often be rented at dive sites, and members of the club will be able to advise on how to acquire them otherwise.
