The first wave of training for 2012 will be on diving safety skills and the basic skills for the extended use of the club boat that we will do this year.

  • We aim to rehearse oxygen administration as the primary first aid for divers every year.
  • We will also run the dive manager's Practical Rescue Management theory and practical.
  • Flo has set up a VHF short range radio course with Chas Newens Marine on Putney Embankment.
  • Flo has arranged with Nick Levesque that he will run a Boat Handling course.
During the first few weeks of the year I will set up the personal diving skills sessions that members want. Contact Training Officer Steve, let me know your ambitions for the year and I will try to make it happen.
Some members have started and need to complete Dive Leader and Advanced Diver training. These qualifications are for senior and responsible divers looking to organise and take charge of trips. I very much want to help everyone succeed with these. Given what the qualifications are for I also expect a small measure of self-motivation and self-organisation. You tell me when you are available for special training trips or ask me to arrange training sessions during trips you are going on.
