How to Organise a Dive Trip

The usual rules for Putney and most dive clubs apply for booking a place on a trip.

  • The organiser gets a date at the dive planning meeting or from Dive Officer John during the year. The trip is planned.
  • The organiser researches boats, accommodation, costs and asks for bookings.
  • To book you pay a deposit, no deposit = no booking.
  • The organiser pays a deposit for boat, accommodation and the trip is confirmed.
  • If you cancel from a booked trip, you find your replacement or cover the cost of your place, not the organiser.

Organisers can ask the club to cover any gap between bookings and the numbers needed to fill a trip. You'll have to wait until the committee meets each month to agree this.

If you want to organise a trip, come to the Bricklayer's Arms on Tuesday and talk to Dive Officer John about the dates, places and who will go. Remember we have the club boat waiting to be taken out any free weekend.
